The Naira strengthened against the US dollar at the official foreign exchange market, starting the week on a positive note.
Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that on Monday, the Naira traded at ₦1,418.95 to the dollar, up from ₦1,421.63 recorded on Friday, January 23, 2026. This reflects a gain of ₦2.68 against the greenback.
At the black market, however, the Naira remained stable at ₦1,490 per dollar, unchanged from last Friday’s rate.
The development comes amid Nigeria’s foreign reserves, which stood at $46.01 billion as of last Thursday.
