Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have launched another deadly attack on Otobi-Akpa community in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State, leaving at least four people dead.
The attackers, reportedly heavily armed, were said to have stormed the community around midnight on Tuesday, firing shots indiscriminately and causing residents to flee their homes in fear.
The assault, which reportedly lasted for several hours, resulted in the deaths of Hon. Ochi Ayedu, Eje Uzu, Alinko and Achibi. As of the time of filing this report, several residents were still missing following the attack.
The latest violence comes only months after a similar attack on the same community, during which no fewer than 13 people were killed, many others sustained injuries or went missing, and over 50 houses were destroyed.
