The Lagos State Police Command has ordered an investigation into Pastor Okafor following renewed allegations of sexual misconduct, weeks after his wedding to a new bride, identified as Pearl, on December 16, 2025. The ceremony was attended by several prominent clerics.
Initially, the police had said they could not arrest the pastor because no formal complaints had been lodged by the alleged victims. The Lagos State Police spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, told reporters on Friday that she was not aware of any official petitions despite widespread allegations circulating on social media.
However, after further inquiries by journalists, including messages sent to the Police Commissioner, the command confirmed on Sunday that the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) had been directed to summon Pastor Okafor for questioning and call the alleged victims for interviews.
“The CP has directed the SCID to invite the pastor for investigation, despite the fact that no one has formally come forward to report,” Adebisi told PUNCH Online. She added that witnesses would also be brought forward to provide statements to assist the investigation. On her initiative, Adebisi reached out to a YouTuber who had interviewed the alleged victims to obtain direct links to potential witnesses.
The allegations first surfaced on December 14 when actress Ogala shared emotional videos on her Instagram page, accusing the pastor of a sexual relationship that allegedly began in 2017 and lasted nine years. Ogala claimed that Pastor Okafor repeatedly promised to marry her but instead wed another woman in December 2025. She further accused him of sharing her explicit photos and videos, contributing to the breakdown of her previous marriage, and causing emotional distress and financial loss.
Ogala also shared screenshots, bedroom photos, and videos in which she alleged the pastor sent her $10,000 to retract her statements and claim that a rival pastor orchestrated the accusations. Her lawyers later filed a legal notice demanding N1 billion in damages, citing threats and intimidation following her arrest and detention by the police.
As the scandal gained traction, other women, including Okafor’s former wife, Bessem Okafor, came forward with allegations of infidelity, manipulation, and physical assault.
Despite the claims, several church members dismissed the allegations as attempts by individuals seeking to extort money from the pastor, whom they described as their “man of God.”
