The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a vessel carrying 20 kilograms of cocaine at the Apapa seaport in Lagos.
NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi disclosed this in a statement on Friday, saying the vessel, MV Nord Bosporus (registration number 9760110), arrived from Santos, Brazil.
According to Babafemi, officers discovered the Class A drug hidden beneath the ship’s cargo on Sunday, 16 November 2025. The vessel’s master, Captain Quino Eugene Corpus, along with 19 other Filipino crew members, were taken into custody for investigation.
He added that the agency filed an ex-parte application (suit number FHC/L/MISC/1306/25) before Justice Musa Kakaki of the Federal High Court, Lagos, seeking detention of both the vessel and the crew.
