Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has described Omoyele Sowore, former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), as a hypocrite.
Olayinka, in a post on Friday, criticized Sowore for branding President Bola Tinubu a criminal, arguing that the activist himself embodies undemocratic tendencies.
He pointed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) website, which lists Sowore as the AAC’s National Chairman, while also serving as its repeated presidential candidate.
“Imagine if Tinubu were simultaneously APC chairman and presidential candidate—Sowore would have been the loudest critic,” Olayinka wrote. “They preach what they can’t practice. They impose on others what they won’t tolerate. That’s hypocrisy.”
He noted that since AAC’s founding in 2018, Sowore has remained both party chairman and presidential candidate, refusing to entrust leadership to others.
According to him, Sowore has positioned himself as “chairman, treasurer, financial secretary and presidential candidate,” while demanding democracy from others.
“With just 14,603 votes, he wants to be President, Vice President, Senate President, Speaker and Chief Justice of Nigeria,” Olayinka mocked.
