A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of being unsettled ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Friday during an interview on The Morning Brief, a Channels Television programme, Momodu said the APC appears determined to suppress strong opposition to President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“It is obvious that the ruling party is jittery. They don’t want any formidable competition in 2027. Their focus is not on the governors but on ensuring that one man—President Bola Tinubu—emerges as the sole candidate. If possible, they want all political parties to rally behind him,” he said.
Commenting on recent reports of legal disputes involving the APC, Momodu noted that he was not surprised.
“When I heard yesterday that these guys are heading back to court, it didn’t shock me. We don’t know what is going on, but of course, there is nothing wrong with anyone going to court,” he added.
