The Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by MacDonald Ebere, has congratulated Professor Nentawe Yilwatda on his emergence as the new National Chairman of the party.
Ebere described Yilwatda as a seasoned technocrat and strategic leader, noting their long-standing and productive working relationship. He praised Yilwatda’s appointment as timely and crucial for strengthening the party at the grassroots level and driving institutional renewal.
In a statement issued through his personal media assistant, Julian Chijioke, following the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, Ebere expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ensuring a smooth leadership transition and maintaining stability within the party.
He also commended Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, who chairs the Progressive Governors’ Forum, for his unwavering commitment to the party. Ebere highlighted Uzodinma’s key role—alongside other APC governors—in facilitating Yilwatda’s emergence through consensus and unity of purpose. According to him, the development reflects Uzodinma’s reputation as a bridge-builder both within the Southeast and nationally.
Ebere further acknowledged the efforts of APC stakeholders across national, state, and ward levels, thanking them for their resilience and dedication to the party’s vision. He encouraged continued loyalty and unity as the APC charts a focused course towards national development.
“As we look ahead, especially toward the 2027 general elections, I want to assure Nigerians that the APC, under President Tinubu and our new National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, remains committed to fulfilling its promises to the people,” Ebere stated.
