Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has condemned President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, calling it “reckless and unconstitutional.” Obi criticized the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and lawmakers for six months, saying the president overstepped his powers.
He urged the National Assembly to reject the decision, warning it could foster a culture of impunity and threaten democracy.
