The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 52-year-old man, Harry Collins, for impersonating a police officer.
Collins was caught wearing a full police uniform with a sergeant rank on the Long Bridge of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway during a reconnaissance patrol on February 20, 2025.
Police officers became suspicious of Collins’ presence and immediately arrested him.
According to CSP Omolola Odutola, the command’s spokesperson, Collins couldn’t provide a satisfactory explanation for his actions, raising further suspicions about his activities.
The police are currently investigating Collins’ motives and potential criminal involvement. He will be charged to court once the investigation is complete.
The Ogun State Police Command is warning the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals posing as police officers.
