Tunde Ayeni, the former chairman of Skye Bank, has petitioned a Federal Capital Territory Customary Court to declare that he is not the biological father of Adaobi Alagwu’s daughter.
The two have been embroiled in a paternity dispute since 2022, with Alagwu insisting that Ayeni is the father and Ayeni denying it.

Ayeni testified in court, stating that he was never married to Alagwu and that he only paid money to her father as a form of dowry because he believed the child was his at the time.
However, he claimed that the money was later refunded to him.
Alagwu, on the other hand, has denied all of Ayeni’s claims, stating that he acknowledged paternity of the child and even named her.
She also claimed that a DNA test was conducted at Ayeni’s request, which showed a 99.9999997% probability that he is the biological father.
The court has adjourned the case until March 4, when Alagwu is expected to present her defense and counterclaim.
Ayeni has refused to undergo another DNA test, stating that he will only do so if the other men who had relationships with Alagwu also undergo testing
