Media aide to Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2023 presidential candidate, Paul Ibe, mentioned that Atiku and his Labour Party (LP) counterpart, Peter Obi, have learned from their mistakes in the previous general election.
During the 2023 presidential election, Atiku and Peter Obi each received over six million votes, but the victory went to the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Tinubu, who garnered over eight million votes.
Some political analysts believe that the PDP missed an opportunity to defeat the APC by splitting their votes with Peter Obi, who left the party for the LP.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today program on Monday, Paul Ibe mentioned that Atiku and Peter Obi are now working together to overthrow the incompetent and clueless APC administration.
Ibe also discussed the recent public meetings between Atiku and Peter Obi, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in politics.
He stated, “Atiku Abubakar has been advocating for opposition parties to join forces to remove this incompetent government.
Discussions have been ongoing, and lessons have been learned from the 2023 election, leading to a united front moving forward.”
He continued, “All options are being considered by Atiku, but I cannot comment on whether he will step down for Peter Obi in the 2027 election.”
