On a dark Monday in North-West Nigeria, a tragic road accident occurred at the Dangwaro Flyover on the bustling Kano-Zaria Road, resulting in the loss of 25 lives and leaving 53 others injured. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), RS1.2 Kano Sector Command, confirmed the incident, which took place around 3:30 am.
The crash involved a speeding trailer (IVECO) with registration number KMC 311 ZB, carrying 90 individuals. Unfortunately, the trailer lost control, leading to multiple casualties and injuries. Thankfully, 12 people were rescued unharmed.

Various items, including motorcycles, mobile phones, animals, maize, and cash, were recovered from the scene and are now in police custody. All injured victims were swiftly transported to Murtala Specialist Hospital Kano for urgent medical treatment, as confirmed by CRC Abdullahi Labaran, SPEO/PRO FRSC RS1.2 Kano Sector Command.
In response to the tragedy, Sector Commander Ibrahim Abdullahi issued a stern warning against unsafe practices by drivers, such as transporting animals, goods, and passengers simultaneously. He emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic laws to ensure road safety and prevent further accidents.
The FRSC urged all road users to strictly follow traffic regulations to avoid future tragedies on Nigerian roads.
